Evaluasi Keputusan Petani Terhadap Penggunaan Pestisida Organik Pada Tanaman Hortikultura Di Desa Fatukanutu Kecamatan Amabi Oefeto Kabupaten Kupang

Abstract

One of the main aspects needing to in the cultivation of horticultural crops, especially vegetable crops, is to control pests and diseases using organic pesticides. The study aimed to determine how the decision-making process of horticultural farmers and analyze the factors influencing the decision of farmers to use organic pesticides. The research was conducted from February 2016 to August 2016 in the Fatukanutu village of Amabi Oefeto District-Kupang Regency. Respondents in this study were 62 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and interview techniques. Data obtained were analyzed by multiple linear regression. The results performed that farmers' decision-making process consists of the introduction stage (28.09%), persuasion (25.94%), decision (23.78%), and confirmation (22.19%). Multiple linear regression analysis showed a significant correlation between the price of organic pesticides, individual's perception of the pesticides, and the innovation characteristics. The courage to take risks and the role of educator did not significantly influence the farmers' decision to use organic pesticides in horticultural crops.
