Efektivitas Metode Demonstrasi Teknologi Kompos Jerami Padi terhadap Daya Terima Petani Sawah di Desa Noelbaki Kecamatan Kupang Tengah Kabupaten Kupang

Abstract

Each extension method has its weaknesses and advantages. Therefore the method used must be a method that involves farmers and their senses directly so that they can inspire farmers to accept technology. The study took place in the Noelbaki Village Kupang of District. The study was to determine the demonstration method's effectiveness on the rice straw compost technology to the rice farmers' acceptability and to determine the correlation between the farmer characteristics and the effectiveness of the demonstration method used. The variables measured in the study were the effectiveness of the demonstration method used to the acceptance of farmers indicated by knowledge, attitudes, and skills; and the characteristics of farmers (age, education, farming-area used, farming experience, and farm status). There were 78 respondents of the-361-people in two farmer groups, sampled in simple randomly sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test, and Spearman rank correlation. The results performed that: the demonstration method improved the acceptability of farmers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills and was helpful to farmers. The farmer acceptance significantly correlated with the characteristics of the farmers, namely age, education, farming-area used, farming experience, and farm status.
