Persepsi Masyarakat Pengguna Biogas di Desa Noelbaki Kecamatan Kupang Tengah Kabupaten Kupang terhadap Teknologi Biogas

Abstract

Biogas is an alternative fuel-producing energy for daily needs by reusing household wastes, livestock manures, and food industry remainings. The study was to determine the perception of biogas technology users and find out the correlation between perception and internal-external characteristics of the users. The study took place in the village of Noelbaki, District of Central Kupang, Kupang Regency. The sample was 12-users of biogas technology as respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, rho-Spearman's correlation, and multiple linear regressions. The results presented that the perception of biogas technology users was positive (x > μ; 39.75 > 32.00). The perception was equal among the users (s < σ; 3.05 < 5.33). The perception was significantly due to the age and the propriety of the technology to the users' needs. The effect of the two factors may be predicted through the multiple linear regression models of Y = 18.58 + 2.45 X₁ + 1.27 X₂ → R² = 0.677 wherein Y = perception of biogas technology users, X₁ = age, X₂ = suitability of biogas technology. The results suggested that the technology should be addressed to the younger or the productive users, in an easy way or more suitable to the needs of local users, to improve the perception of the biogas technology users. A further study is needed to find out the other influencing-internal and external factors.
