Abstract

Agricultural land is one of the most important production factors, because land is a growing medium for plants. Many agricultural lands are temporarily not cultivated, if handled then the land in question can produce optimal production. Optimization of agricultural land is an effort to increase the utilization of agricultural land resources into agricultural land for food crops, horticulture, and plantations through efforts to improve and increase the carrying capacity of the land, so that it can become more productive farming land. Agricultural land optimization activities are directed to meet the criteria for agricultural land for food crops, horticulture, plantations and livestock from technical aspects, physical and chemical soil improvements, as well as improving farming infrastructure needed. Assistance and development of rural communities with the aim of empowering the people's economy, it is hoped that the village community will be able to develop and improve productive economic efforts according to the village's potential. The average livelihood of rural communities in Kupang Regency is farming. The potential of agriculture and plantations in Kupang Regency has profitable business opportunities, production and marketing opportunities if managed regularly and responsibly. But unfortunately these potentials and opportunities have not been managed and the maximum benefits are felt by business actors and by the community in the village as a source of this potential.
